A Private Couples Marriage Retreat Setting That Invites Closeness
Stepping away from the pressures of living life together changes everything. A couples retreat at Heritage gives every husband and wife their own private space — a cottage that belongs to just the two of you — set within 200 acres of prayer gardens, walking trails, and historic grounds. This isn’t hotel room lodging. It’s a retreat built around the idea that couples need somewhere genuinely their own: a place to work through what’s been hard to say, to reconnect , and to rest and relax.
That privacy can also be part of the group experience. You can gather with other couples at the pond house, share meals in Pine Lodge, or join a session together — and then step away to your own quiet space whenever you’re ready. The balance is intentional: shared encouragement when you want it, protected privacy when you need it.
Rooted in Christian heritage and open to all married couples seeking renewal, Heritage welcomes every husband and wife who values meaningful connection and shared purpose. We ask that the use of our facilities honor Christian sensibilities, maintaining our mission. Couples have found that the sacred history of the grounds adds unexpected depth and support to their time together.
Why a Marriage Retreat Can Change Everything
Most couples do not drift apart because they stop caring. They drift because life fills every available hour with work, parenting, schedules, and responsibilities, leaving little room for the kind of honest, unhurried conversation a marriage needs to thrive. A retreat removes those daily pressures and replaces them with something rare: uninterrupted quality time to focus on each other and improve the emotional connection. Research consistently shows that couples who invest intentional time in their relationship experience stronger communication, deeper intimacy, and a renewed sense of shared purpose that carries well beyond the weekend itself.
At Heritage, the setting does much of the work. The quiet of 200 acres, the beauty of the historic grounds, and the absence of everyday distractions create an atmosphere where walls come down and real connection becomes possible again. Whether you and your spouse need to rebuild, to celebrate, or simply to remember why you chose each other, Heritage gives your marriage the space and stillness it deserves.

What to Expect at Your Marriage Retreat at Heritage
Most marriage retreats usually last 2-3 days or longer. A typical marriage retreat weekend at Heritage begins on your first evening, typically a Friday evening with check-in, a shared dinner, and a welcome session to help you and your spouse settle in and transition out of the stress of everyday life. Your next morning brings a rhythm of sessions, free time to explore the grounds, shared meals, and quiet evenings in your cottage, at the pond house, or by the fire with other couples. Sunday wraps up with a closing session and a relaxed departure.
Many couples may arrive feeling distant, distracted, or simply worn down by the demands of life. As the weekend unfolds, something shifts. The peaceful surroundings, the uninterrupted time, and the intentional focus on each other create space for honest conversations, deeper understanding, and genuine closeness. Couples often describe leaving Heritage feeling like they walked back into their marriage with new eyes filled with joy.
Whether you arrive hoping to strengthen intimacy, rebuild trust, or simply reconnect with your spouse, Heritage provides the environment where that transformation becomes possible. The combination of sacred history, natural beauty, and intentional space does what a busy schedule never allows: it gives your relationship your full attention.
