Liturgical Events
Each year, Heritage celebrates special liturgical events to honor our historical connection to the forefathers of our faith who settled here over 200 years ago, establishing the first Catholic congregation in the state of Georgia.
Mass celebrations are open to the public. Follow the links for more information about opportunities to join us at the Retreat at Heritage for meals and overnight accommodations.
Feast of the Purification
Celebrate the feast day of the Historic Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Mass and lunch on February 2nd. The current Church of the Purification was built in 1883. The original church, located at Locust Grove Cemetery, was dedicated in 1821. Join us to continue this 200+-year tradition.
Christmas Eve Mass
Our annual Christmas Eve Mass is at 3:00 pm at the historic Church of the Purification. Join us for a beautiful and sacred celebration of the birth of our Savior. Bring the family to escape the rat race for an overnight Christmas celebration at Heritage.
All Souls Mass
All Souls Mass is held in the oldest Catholic cemetery in Georgia on the first Saturday in November. Pray for our deceased ancestors in the faith and remember the sacrifices they made to keep the faith alive. A picnic lunch at the Retreat follows Mass. Celebrate the entire weekend at Heritage and be inspired by this historic and sacred place.
