THE OLDEST CATHOLIC CEMETERY IN GEORGIA
Locust Grove Cemetery, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was established in 1790 by the original Catholic settlers.
Today, the cemetery remains a beautiful place for prayer and contemplation. A Mass for All Souls Day is held in the cemetery on the first Saturday in November.
The cemetery is open daily from 8 am - 5 pm.


SACRED GROUND IN SHARON
The first Catholic congregation of Georiga moved to Sharon from their original settlement around 1875 to be closer to the railroad. The church was relocated, and a new cemetery was established.
Many of Taliaferro County’s founding families have plots here.
